Privacy policy
What personal data PiedraDelPenol.com processes, why, and how to exercise your rights under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012.
You can read this whole guide without signing up or giving us any data. This page explains the little we do process and how, under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 on personal data protection (habeas data) and Decree 1377 of 2013, now part of Decree 1074 of 2015.
Data controller
Julián Durango Gallego, based in Sabaneta, Antioquia, Colombia. Email for anything about your data: contacto@juliandurango.com.
What data we process
If you email us: your name, your email address and whatever you tell us. We use it only to reply and, if you report a mistake, to fix the guide. We do not sell it, use it for marketing or share it with anyone unless the law requires it.
Server logs: like any website, our host (Hostinger) logs data such as IP address, browser and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use them to identify you.
This site has no forms, no user accounts and no analytics tools of its own.
Booking.com and CJ Affiliate links
When you click a Booking.com link or search box, you pass through CJ Affiliate servers and then land on Booking.com. They use cookies and technical click data to know the booking came from this guide and pay us the commission. Some banners also load a tiny CJ image that counts impressions. We only see aggregated reports (clicks and sales), never your name or payment details. How those companies handle data is covered by their own policies: Booking.com and CJ.
More detail in our cookie policy.
Your rights
As the owner of your data you can: know, update and correct it; ask for proof of the consent you gave; find out how we use it; withdraw consent or ask us to delete it when there is no legal duty to keep it; access it free of charge; and file a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) after first raising it with us.
To exercise them, write to contacto@juliandurango.com telling us who you are and what you need. We answer queries within 10 business days and complaints within 15 business days. If we need more time, we will tell you before the deadline, as the law allows.
Other points
We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your message. Some providers (hosting and email) may run servers outside Colombia; we chose them because they offer reasonable security measures. This guide is not aimed at minors and we do not knowingly collect data from children or teenagers.
If we change this policy we will publish it on this page with the new date. See also the affiliate disclosure, the terms and conditions and contact.
