About PiedraDelPenol.com: who makes this Rock and Guatapé guide
Who writes PiedraDelPenol.com, how we build the Guatapé and El Peñol hotel pages and how the guide keeps going.

PiedraDelPenol.com puts in one place what people ask before climbing the 740 steps: what the ticket costs, how to get there and where to sleep between Guatapé and El Peñol. It is made by Julián Durango.
How we build the hotel pages
Each page starts from the property's public Booking.com listing: description, amenities, score and review count, with the date we checked it. We have not stayed in them and do not publish first-hand experiences; when a listing fails to load or contradicts itself we say so and drop it from the lists, as happened with Hotel Casa Linda. Distances to the Rock come from each listing's coordinates.
How it keeps going
The guide earns a Booking.com commission when someone books through its links, and your price does not change. List order comes from score, review count and location, not from the commission. More in the affiliate disclosure.
Who writes it
Julián Durango Gallego is an SEO consultant with more than 10 years in the field, based in Sabaneta, in the Medellín metro area. From there, the Piedra del Peñol is about two hours by road, via the Medellín Bogotá highway and the Guatapé road, one of the classic day trips from Medellín. His day job is checking data and sources, and this guide works the same way: if an opening time or a price could not be confirmed, we say so. More about him at juliandurango.com.
