Rock of Guatapé: opening hours and ticket price 2026
Climbing costs COP 35,000 per person in 2026, whatever the season. It opens every day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Here is what to know before you reach the ticket booth.

Price in 2026
Since January 1, 2026 the ticket costs COP 35,000 per person (roughly USD 8 to 9, depending on the exchange rate). The management announced it on social media and made it a single fare: no more high and low season prices. In 2025 it cost COP 25,000 to 30,000, so this is an increase of almost 17% over last year's top price.

Some sections of the operator's website still showed COP 30,000 when we checked. To be sure, confirm on the day with the Centro Turístico La Piedra at +57 313 657 9198 (number published by VisitaGuatapé).
Opening hours
Open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm every day, holidays included. Tours from Medellín usually leave around 8 am and reach the rock around 10, so the line grows mid-morning. If you sleep in Guatapé or El Peñol you can be at the booth at 8 sharp.
Payment and parking
- The operator lists cash payment. Bring Colombian pesos.
- Parking: cars COP 5,000 per hour or part of an hour, motorbikes COP 4,000, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is separate from the ticket.
- Food, drinks and souvenirs at the top are paid separately.
